LAST WEEK: #11 - 11.18

Announcements

1. Review

DUE TODAY 11.18

ALL page pdfs should be working. You shoud be printing by now.
3. Last minute adjustments to your pages.

4 Internal Hinge Demonstration
a. The first part of "Binding Up."

b. We will glue up internal hinges today.
c. Bring 12"x 4.5" of your book cloth and your four end sheets. (Thats two sheets of paper folded in half = four leaves or pages. Go to folded and cut end sheets in the Class links.)
d. You will have a significant problem with your book if you forget these materials for this class.

5. Materials List
a. Go to: page 15 of the syllabus
to see materials list and suppliers.

Bring your book cloth so you can use the template to cut your cover cloth for next week.

6. Logo Sheet
a. Read your e-mail

b. Only a third of the class has sent me the 2"x 2" logo jpeg requested in the e-mails I've sent the class.

c. Please bring your logo to class so we can output a Logo Sheet for this semester.

2. Typography  Enclyopedia
a. Work in class on constructing your textblock.

3. Binding
a. You must bring to class basic materials:


•  Folded end sheets with glued internal hinges
•  Wax paper
•  Bookcloth - Cut to the size of the template
   provided last week

• Think about purchasing your own bone folder

I will provide:

•  Book board
•  Fraynot
•  Crash

•  Tools (Brushes, glue and the mystical 
    bonefolders)

4. The Dusk Jacket - the Last Assignment
a. What it's for
b. What it's supposed to do
c. What it should look like
d. How you have to print it out.
e. Read p.19 of the syllabus:

5. Count your pages
a. Make sure they are in the right order.

a. Bring 10 proportional thumbnails of your Dust Jacket

b. Pay particular attention to how the title fits the cover.
c. List yourself as the Editor.
