Course Status in the Curriculum
Courses within the curriculum are classified as experimental,
active, inactive or terminated. To change the classification or
status of the course, departments should follow these directives.
- To change a course from experimental to active, follow the guidelines
described in Review
for Experimental Course Proposals.
- To change a course from active to inactive, send a memo to the
Associate Academic Dean, Curriculum, requesting this change. Inactive
courses may be activated by the same process, and do not need
to be reviewed by the Curriculum Committee.
- To change a course from active to terminated, send a memo to
the Associate Academic Dean, Curriculum, requesting this change.
Terminated courses remain in the computer catalog historic file;
terminated course numbers may not be reused. To change a terminated
course to an active course, departments need to resubmit the course
as a new course and complete the review process.
