Pilot Courses

Elective pilot courses may be submitted for Spring or Fall terms; courses that are part of new curriculum or program changes may be submitted only in Spring for offering in Fall (form)

Fall Semester - for courses to be offered in Spring 07, including J-Session

10/6 (and earlier)   Departmental Curriculum Committees deliver proposed pilot courses for Spring/J-session to Associate Dean and to members of School Curriculum Committee for progressive review. Deadline is 10/6
10/6 – 10/20          Associate Dean reviews and requests changes if appropriate from departments; delivers proposals under review to Dean
10/16                   Associate Deans review collectively for overlap
10/20                   School Curriculum Committee reviews proposed pilot courses
10/27                   Schedule closes for Spring 07
10/30                   Schedule posted for students for Spring 07, including J-Session
11/6                     Registration open for Spring 07, including J-Session

Pilot to Permanent Courses

Courses are eligible for consideration after two semesters of classroom experience, and must be reviewed for permanent status within three years of original pilot proposal approval. May be submitted only in Spring for offering in Fall  (form)

2/12 (and earlier)   Departmental Curriculum Committees prepare answers to review questions and submits courses to Associate Dean and to members of School Curriculum Committee for progressive review. Deadline is 2/12
2/12 – 2/16           Associate Dean reviews and requests changes if appropriate from departments; delivers proposals under review to Dean. Associate Deans review collectively for overlap and report as point of information to their respective school curriculum committees
2/16                     School Curriculum Committee reviews for overlap and recommends for permanent status
2/16 – 3/16           School Dean approves for permanent status
3/16                     Reported to Academic Affairs as Point of Information
