Monday, October 1, 2007, 12pm:

"Getting My Name Out There - Free Stickers" on the corner of Adams and State Street. Get a free limited editon sticker by Anni Holm.


Tuesday, October 2, 2007, 2pm - 4pm:

"NetWorking" - at the Federal Center Plaza, Adams & Dearborn Streets, Chicago.
Art Walks Chicago invites the public to join in on an unusual knitting networking session. Knitting needles and yarn are provided, however, you are also welcome to bring your own.


 

Thursday, October 4, 2007, starting at 12pm:

"Trade Me This Piece of Art for Yours" - MCA & Art Institute (entrance stairs)
Dealing with issues of commerce, real-estate, institutional critique, and the absurd, Chris Roberts cuts out the middle-man in this stationary performance art piece taking place at the entrance stairs of the MCA. First come, first served, one time only.

 

Monday, October 8, 2007, 1 - 3pm:

"No More War Please. Thanks." - Vietnam Memorial in Chicago, 2E Wacker (between Wabash & State).
In honor of John Lennon on his would-be birthday, Chris Roberts sits in a silent protest at the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Plaza.

 

Thursday, October 11, 2007, 8 - 9am:

"This is a Silent Protest" - Chicago Loop
In honor of the one year anniversary of the protest that protested protesting, Chris Roberts observes a silent protest that is actively inactive.

 

Saturday, October 13, 2007, 2 - 4pm:

"Compostition" - Nettlehorst School, 3252 N. Broadway, Chicago.
Composting Workshops & Performances - Relating to an interactive and environmentally friendly permanent installation by Anni Holm at Nettlehorst School for art 44.46 curated by Stuart Keeler.

"Feed Your Indignation!" - Front steps of the Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St.
Flower Power Hour ~ A Sing-In Over Lunch

Folk musician Kevin Monaghan will perform his original tune Blue Blues—a local protest song about lack of recycling and under-funded mass transit in the Chicago area—while Kristina Dziedzic Wright hands out “flowers of recyclia” to passers-by. Words to Blue Blues will be displayed on a poster for people to sing
along, and Monaghan will also perform popular songs of political change and community empowerment.


Tuesday, October 30, 2007, 11.30am - 1pm:

"Beat/Bleep Bike" - Daley Plaza
Chicago artist Michael Una presents a bicycle-controlled drum machine that rewards excercise and coordination with funky outer-space disco beats. Join him and have fun!
